“Is it a ink miser or guzzler? My wife and I find our current printer Brother MFC 240c seems to require ink replacements more often even though we rarely use it. It's cost too much to replace the cartridge and it seems that if you replace one the others need to be replaced too, about $80 each time. Something to do with cycle and maintenance time wired into the firmware. Similar to my smart car informing me it's time for a oil change but with the printer, it will not print until you change one or all ink cartridges.”

I have had mine for several months and am still using start up cartridges that came with it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I purchased this Printer over two Months ago & do quite a lot of Printing, I just replaced the first cartridge this week which was the Black one. The cost was reasonable & I went with the XL replacement.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Closer to a miser than a guzzler, we change one cartridge at a time, and not until it won't print which is long after the low ink warnings. Use the high capacity cartridges, they are are more economical.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It is ok with ink. I do not think I get more than 200 pages but if you pick up ink when it is on sale for 12-15 bucks then it is a good value. If you are just printing ink then set your document to black and white. For some reason it makes the colors last longer but you should replace cartridges at minimum once a year but more like 6 months so that the heads do not clog.
