Yes this printer will work with a desk top or a lap top

If you want to Print like a PC on Chromebook may be Not because i suppose you cannot install printer Drivers on Chrome OS. But It is Wifi enabled so you can add this printer as your cloud printer into your gmail account and use it to print easily. You can also scan and send to email directly or other cloud drives. The wireless scanning to PC feature is a bit pain, i would rate it @ 0, since the transfer rate is not pretty. Total waste as a wireless scanner.
