• Yes it is compatible with Windows 8, also 10. It uses 4 cartridges. I can't answer about the Asus computers. I have an Acer, works great and can print remotely.

• This printer should work well with Windows 8. Brother have historically been very good with their driver software. The printer uses four separate cartridges for each color, the Black one being about a half bigger than the cyan, magenta and yellow cartridges.

• Yes it will work with windows 8. It has 4 cartridges. The Black is packaged separate from the color cartridges which come in a 3 pack with the blue red & yellow or Magenta, Azure, etc.
