it can pair up to the ipad pro version but the back protector does not stick to the back of the ipad air. i guess the ipad air doesn't have a magnetic back. Overall the keyboard works fine, there are some very very minor improvements they can do on it to be more compatible for the ipad air but i do love this keyboard.
