  • QuestionAre you able to replace old microwave with this model?

    • Answer Hey - we're happy to inform you that all of our 30" Over-the-Range Microwaves are approximately the same width and are designed to fit into a 30" wide cabinet opening. Therefore, any of our current 30" Over-the-Range microwave models will work as a replacement for an existing 30" Over-the-Range microwave model. Please keep in mind that the mounting bracket included with the new microwave should be used since the mounting bracket is specific to each model.   • QuestionCan I install a microvisor underneath and can the protective lip under door be removed ?

    • Answer Hi! Thanks for asking. We can only recommend that this unit be installed as it's written in the Installation Instructions. Therefore, we don't recommend installing a microvisor hood below this model. We also don't recommend removing any part of the microwave itself as we've not tested or approved the appliance without all needed parts intact. We do hope this helps.   • QuestionHow loud is the vent, exhaust fan on high and low? What is the CFM?

  • QuestionDoes the Matte white style come with a gold tone handle? The one I purchased the gold seems to be more copper colored.

    • Answer Technically yes. The other color option is copper and it is VERY copper. The one it comes with is bronze and it's closest to gold.

  • QuestionCan this be used in combination with a Cafe hood?

If it helps though, you may like to know that this microwave has an automatic fan feature that works as a hood does to help exhaust hot air from your cooktop.     • Answer Hi! Thanks for asking. You are able to turn the surface light to High, Low, or Off. However, this model does have an Auto Night Light feature.   • QuestionCan you use this as a countertop microwave?

This model was designed to be used over-the-range and cannot be used on a counter – as it’s meant to be hung, the underside isn’t flat and wouldn’t provide a stable surface. Also, a heat issue may result, especially if the surface lights or vent fan were accidentally turned on. We regret any inconvenience this may cause, and hope this clarifies the matter.     • Answer Hello there - we're glad to answer this great question! This model is a convection microwave oven with air fry, which means it has different features packed into this single unit. You can use this model as a "regular" microwave and quickly heat up food items. You can also use the convection feature for baked goods, and even combine it with the standard microwave technology for fast cooking.   • QuestionHow many inches of clearance does this need underneath? I understand it can't be put in as a built in, and can't be enclosed below, but what if we leave it open and create minimum clearance below? What is that minimum amount of open space?

    • Answer This model is designed to be installed over a range. We cannot advise installing the unit in any other configuration, as such a set up will not have been tested for safety and reliability. We can advise the microwave’s overall height is 16 5/16”. There should be 30” minimum from the cooktop surface to the top of the microwave once installed, so 13 11/16” should be between the bottom of the microwave and the cooking surface. For more information about the mounting space, you can view page 6 of the installation instructions; those instructions are available when you look up the model number on our Café Appliances website and go to the product’s page. As long as the installation instructions are followed, we would not expect there to be any issue with the unit's functioning. -Sarah@CaféAppliances

  • QuestionMy current microwave is 29.5 inches and the space it is in is 29.8. Will this one fit? What happens if I order it and they cannot install it because it is too big, can they take it back and will I get a refund?

    • Answer This microwave fill fit a standard 30” space above your range. I personally have this model. I installed the kitchen aid version of it for a customer the other day and there’s no comparison. The cafe line is way superior!

  • QuestionWe currently have Cafe model CVM1790SS1SS. The backsplash is tiled right up to the bottom of the unit. We are considering Cafe model CVM517P4RS1 and are concerned as to whether it will fit into the exact same space and not affect the backsplash.

  • QuestionCan this be used as a countertop microwave?

    • Answer Hello- Thanks so much for checking with us. An Over-the-Range microwave can't be used on top a countertop. Please see the following statement and explanation: According to Underwriters Laboratories (UL), which approves appliance installations, you cannot use an over-the-range microwave on the counter or in a shelf. Besides not being approved for this installation, these microwaves don't have feet and are also often slanted (not level) on the bottom. Additionally, if the surface lights or vent fan were to be turned on accidentally, it could cause damage to the shelf or microwave. We hope this helps!
