It works with any size pan. It's not really in the "right front," but rather in the middle (between front and back). It would have been much better if it was more toward the front, thus allowing the other burners to be less cramped. (Simply re-organizing the controls would've accommodated this.) The burner layout on the GE/Monogram/Cafe 30" induction cooktops is not ideal, as you can only use one larger pot or skillet at a time. (I.e., I can't boil pasta and corn-on-the-cob at the same time, let alone be making the pasta sauce in another large skillet.)

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hey there, and thanks for this great question! We regret any confusion over the right front cooking element, and are glad to clarify. For an induction cooktop, the coils do require the pan to be a certain size in order to function correctly. To get the best performance, we recommend avoiding using a smaller pan on a larger burner – a small pot on a larger burner will generate less power; also, if the pan is too small, it may not be large enough for the safety sensor to sense it and activate the element. For the large element on the right, we recommend using a pan that has at least a 7” diameter. More information regarding the recommended cookware size is available on pages 16 and 17 of the manual (which can be viewed on our Café website by looking up the model number). We hope this helps to clarify the matter, and are glad to assist if you have any other questions or concerns. All the best! -Sarah@Café
