“I'm very interested in purchasing this machine but curious to know if the bottom is a warmer so the coffee will be hot until you turn the machine off? I see that you set your temperature for brewing but didn't know if carafe stays hot until turned off.”

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I make 10 cups in the morning, manually. More coffee=greater thermal mass=pot stays warm longer. In our search for a new machine we tried one with a glass carafe and a warmer underneath before getting this, and found that it altered the taste of the coffee after awhile. If you want the coffee to stay warm longer without altering its flavor there are two tricks I’d suggest. One is warming the thermal carafe ahead of time by filling it with hot water. I consider this to be a light cleaning when I do it which also helps the flavor stay unfunny. The second is removing the lid and putting it on backwards to create a seal. You won’t be able to pour from it because the only opening will be facing backwards. But if you’re leaving the carafe for some time, just flip it when you come back. I also think it helps to keep the carafe nestled in the machine. But if you’re leaving it out or taking it elsewhere, wrap it in a dish towel or get/make a cute tea cosy for it. It’s also very quick to make a pot. So consider making multiple fresh pots. Wouldn’t take a minute. Hope that helps!
