A:AnswerHello - we checked the information for this unit, and we recommend using one of our icemaker cleaning solutions that can also be used as a descaler in our expresso machines. The part number for this cleaning solution is #WX08X42870, and you can learn more about this by looking up the part on our GE Appliances website. -- As an alternative, a 1:1 ratio of water and white vinegar can also be used as a cleaning solution for the descaling process. -- We hope this response was insightful, and please reach out to us on social media if any other questions or concerns come up. Take care. - Pablo@Café
A:AnswerYou woukd just take out your beans, and replace with decaf, it's on the top of machine and easy to access. However, you might want to run a ristretro( my cup) shot to clear out the regular coffee.
A:AnswerHi there - Thanks for your interest in our lovely Café Espresso Machine. There is no Teflon on/in the Espresso Machine. Plastic does come in contact with the coffee during the brewing process and the plastic is BPA free. All wetted parts are BPA free. We hope you find this information helpful. Please reach out to us if you have additional questions. All the best. - Don@Café
A:AnswerThanks for checking with us. Yes, this Espresso Machine does have the steam feature and can be used to make an unlimited number of espresso-based drinks. Frothed milk drinks like Cappuccinos and Lattes are classics enjoyed by many. You'll want to brew your espresso before using the steam feature. The steam function requires higher temperatures than espresso and brewing espresso immediately after steaming will affect the taste of the espresso. Please review page 17 in the manual that can be found on our Cafe site and on Best Buys site. Thank you! Joyce@CafeAppliances

A:AnswerTechnically No. But you adjust the “Espresso” and/or “Americano” settings to your liking in some limited ways like Grind time, water Volume and Temperature.
A:AnswerWe do not provide the ingredients for our descale powder and our product team is currently working on a replacement for WC01X20619. In the meantime, we have cleaning solutions for icemakers that can also be used as a descaler in our expresso machines. You can use part numbers WX08X42870 or P4INKCLEAN, which can be purchased by giving our parts team a call at 1-877-959-8688 M-F 9AM-7PM EST or by visiting the GE Appliances Parts website. Alternatively, a 1:1 ratio of water and white vinegar can be used as a cleaning solution for the descaling process.
A:AnswerHello - The amount of coffee used is dictated by the grind size and grind time and not by the brew type (Espresso, Lungo, etc.). Grind Size is changed with the knob. There is a setting of 1 -5. The higher the number the more coffee grounds. Grind Time can only be adjusted in the app. It can be changed from 4 seconds to 5.5 seconds. The longer the time, the more coffee grounds. The default setting is a grind time of 4.5 seconds and the amount of coffee grounds will vary based on grind setting from approx. 7 grams (setting 1) to as much as 12 grams (setting 5).
We don't recommend using the waste as coffee. We're confident this machine will be a great addition to your home for many years. All the best! -Don@Café
A:AnswerHello - Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We recommend that you follow the steps in the "Limited Warranty" section on pg. 22 of the Owner's Manual to initiate a warranty claim. Please let us know if you have additional questions. Best regards. -Don@Café
A:AnswerYes, absolutely. There is a button called “My Cup” which you can set to a recipe of your choosing using the app. One of the recipes you can choose is lungo. I tried it this morning and this might be my new favorite espresso drink.
Additionally, there are adjustments to the grind time and amount of water, and water temperature, so you can dial in how you want your lungo (or other shots) to be brewed.
A:AnswerI don’t think so. This is a GE brand, and Smeg is not. It’s possible that they source some of the parts from the same manufacturer, but otherwise I think the similar look is just a coincidence.
A:AnswerIt has to be whole beans. This machine has a built-in grinder, and it’s designed to grind them immediately before brewing to give you the freshest flavor.
A:AnswerIt is 16” deep, 12.5” tall, and 7.1” wide. The cord sticks out the back so you can’t push it tight against the wall. You also will need to regularly access the water resovoir and bean hopper which are on top, and the drip tray and waste container which slide out the front.
A:AnswerHi! Thanks for asking. The boiler material is made of aluminum. Hope this is helpful! If you have other questions, know that you're always free to ask. Best wishes. -Michael@Cafe

A:AnswerHi there, thanks for asking! Coffee ground amounts and espresso volumes may vary depending on bean type and machine settings. When aligning the grinder circle to the arrow on the grinder top, the smallest circle is the smallest grind size and the largest circle is the largest grind size. The smaller the grind, the stronger the coffee. This may change if the grind settings are changed in the app. We're glad to hear that you're getting lots of use out of your espresso machine! If you've got other questions or concerns, feel free to reach out and let us know. Best wishes. -Michael@Cafe
