QuestionWill this print well on transparency film?

- Answer I know that laserjet pritner cannot use for transparency film due to the heat from the printer drum. But im not sure with the new laser printer nowadays. Try contact canon customer service or tech support to get more info.

QuestionI would like to print color greeting card envelopes. 5x7 can this be done WITHOUT using the by pass - I don't want to do it one at a time. Any advice, Thank you!

- Answer I have not tried to print any envelopes with this printer. The manual does state that this printer is a "manual feed" for envelopes. I don't believe it will not allow you to use the tray to feed and print your envelopes. You may want to ask contact Canon Tech Support this question.

- Answer It depends. The paper has to be made specifically for laser printing. The printer produces a lot of heat and may react differently to your transfer paper. There should be transfer paper that is made for laser printers and/or inkjet printers. Make sure you're using the correct one if you decide to buy this printer.

- Answer The feeder for multiple copies / scans can take up to 50 sheets of 21 lb paper, per the manual.

Questionhow well does this interact with linux? i know canon products have issues with open source for whatever reason. so before i drop $500.00+ on something i can not use i was wondering if anybody has used this with linux cups drivers. Is there a PPA???

- Answer Can put it in the paper tray or the manual feeder. Both options work well as long as you select the source when printing.

- Answer I haven't printed on legal via the manual feed, but the glass is only regular-A4-sized. But, there is a manual feed on the front of the printer.

- Answer yes there is a manager function to check on the abusers i believe you can do 5 users. you can also set copy limits

- Answer My best answer for your issue is to call Canon Customer Service. They might ask you to purchase a new CD, but if you go to their Tech Support, they might be able to walk you through the fix. I had to call them for an issue I had with my other Canon printer regarding a problem with the FAX function. They spent as much time as I needed to get the issue fixed, and were very friendly and knowledgeable. Good luck.

- Answer My biggest concern with this printer is the ink cost. I weighed my options before purchase as ink seems to be more spend but the quality and features of the printer for the price of the printer itself won the battle for me. Haven't had to change toner from the ones that came with it yet and have printer a few hundred pages.
