- Answer Yes it will, just printed an envelope the other day. You open the front cover to put your envelope in and I used Microsoft Word.

- Answer 20" D x 18" W x 19" H. About 3" of space is needed behind it so that you can access the back panel, if necessary.

QuestionCan I use/mix a high yield black toner with regular color toners at the same time (in order to minimize toner cost)? I ask because I rarely print in color.

- Answer Yes, definitely. Moreover, I would also recommend switching to "Mono" by default in printer preferences to make sure it will use the black cartridge only and not a mix of CMY to produce black color. Whenever you need to print in color later, you just have to manually go to properties in print dialog box of the app you will be printing from to change printing to Auto or Color for that printing session. The default option should theoretically remain "Mono".

Questionwhat is the resultant file or document type from scans -do you get a pdf, a jpeg or something else? Is the choice selectable? if you can scan as a pdf is it text editable document? Can you scan to email? can you scan to a specific file on a network

- Answer Yes, you can choose if you want to scan a document (PDF), photo (JPEG). You do also have a choice to scan to OCR which should allow you to edit the document if you have the right kind of program to do so. You can scan to email. You have to know what you are doing to set up the SMTP server from the web interface. You can also set up a network folder in the address book. I haven't done this since I don't have a file server set up right now. When you set up the software, it adds that computer to the destinations if you want to send something quickly from the interface on the printer.

QuestionI have an HP Color Laser and the page prints very nice glossy colors. I have also seen the output from Brother color laser printers and the finish of the print is more of a matte finish. What do the pages look like with this printer?

- Answer This printer makes crisp clear copies. It is also fast. Right out of the box the toner that is provided in the printer makes approx 1000 copies we were told. The toner is costly but when full they provide approx 7000 copies. It can be hooked up to a computer or used wireless

- Answer Yes they come with what is called a starter toner, all colors. It will print a limited amount and then you will have to buy some full capacity toners. They have regular capacity and Hi- capacity. Don't let sticker shock surprise you. All name brands are similarly priced.

- Answer The manual cautions against using glossy paper, so I would think no photos. I have printed photos on regular paper though.

QuestionCan you still use the black ink cartridge if the color toners need to be replaced? I really do not need color so black and white is fine with me. My old HP printer will not work at all if any of the ink cartridges are empty.

- Answer I don't use that function but I believe that it has that capability. You would have to chose the tray that you wanted to use.
