“I am so used to my OLD Canon camera I had for the past 10 yrs - it had a built-in flash. How do I light up subjects I want to take simple pics of at nighttime (i.e., son with friends) with the 5D Mark III, when there is no pop up flash?”

Higher ISO will help ,or buy a flash , it depend in the area your at , lighting is important .
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Being a professional grade camera - a pop up flash is not something that is ever used. Typically photographers will have flash guns that attach to the hotshoe, or use studio lighting - a pop up flash does not give professional results so is never seen on these high end professional models. A lower grade camera, one that is not the full frame professional spec, will still give excellent quality photographs and will perhaps include the pop up flash for your convenience. It will also be considerably cheaper than this model. While I highly recommend this model - if you are not using it for the more professional purposes, you won't necessarily need it over a smaller cheaper model - such as the rebels.
