I don't shoot youtube videos but I would think this would be a bit of overkill. I would get one of the mirrorless cameras instead. As far as tripods, if you do get the 80D I would make sure to get something sturdy. You'll want to spend at least $50 on a good tripod. Manfrotto is a good brand and so is Sunpak Hope this helps
