A:AnswerIt should work just fine as all EF lenses are compatible with all EOS cameras. I’ve owned several versions of the rebel series and all of my lenses going back to my 35mm film Rebel G will work on my T8i.
If you still aren’t sure check the lens mount on the front of your camera and match it to the symbol on your lens. Simply remove the lens from your camera by pressing the lens release button and twisting the lens counter-clockwise.
If you see a red circle on the lens mount your camera will accept EF lenses.
If you see a red circle and a white square it will accept EF-S lenses as well.
If you see a white circle it will accept only EF-M lenses.
The T8i has both the red circle and white square. Therefore it takes both EF and EF-S lenses.
