  • QuestionBattery life

    Asked by Hyphy.

  • QuestionHow much is the monthly subscription?

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer The first month is free, so you can test the device without paying for a subscription. After that, you can choose from various subscription plans that can be paid monthly or yearly. Plans start at $9.95 per month and go up to $19.95 per month for the most premium service. Please check the attached image for a full overview of all available plans. Compared to other solutions on the market, our standard plan already offers fast refresh rates, whether the vehicle is moving or standing still. There are no contracts, activation costs, or hidden fees. Kind regards, Meg - Carlock Team

  • QuestionIs this a monthly subscription?

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Yes, CarLock uses a subscription model to cover the ongoing operational costs of the system, including cellular connectivity via the built-in SIM card, secure data transmission, real-time cloud processing, server hosting, data storage, customer support, and continuous platform updates. Because the device needs mobile connectivity and cloud services to work, these costs are included in the service. There are no contracts or hidden fees, and the first month is free, allowing full evaluation of the system during the return period. After that, users can choose monthly or yearly plans. Compared to other market solutions, CarLock offers one of the most affordable, if not the most affordable, GPS vehicle tracking options available. Kind regards, Meg – CarLock Team

  • QuestionSays this supports multiple vehicles in one account. So, are there multiple units included or does it require a seperate purchase for each vehicle.

    Asked by Sam.

    • Answer This listing includes 1 device for 1 vehicle. If you prefer, you can also move the device between vehicles by unplugging it from one OBD port and plugging it into another. It will track whichever vehicle it’s currently installed in. Each CarLock device has its own built-in cellular connection, so it tracks one vehicle at a time. You can manage multiple vehicles under one account, but to track multiple vehicles at the same time, you’ll need a separate device (and subscription) for each. The subscription keeps each device connected to the cloud for real-time alerts and tracking, and covers ongoing costs like SIM/data service, cloud servers, updates, and support. That’s why it’s per device. Kind regards, Meg - Carlock Team

  • QuestionHow far does the connection go? If my car gets stolen will I be able to track it or will it lose connection after a certain point ?

    Asked by Sky.

    • Answer You’ll be able to track your vehicle as long as the Carlock device remains plugged in and your phone has Wi-Fi or cellular data. Even if the Carlock device is unplugged, the built-in backup battery allows tracking for up to 30 minutes afterward. Carlock uses GPS satellite and cellular connectivity, not Bluetooth. This means there is no distance limit, and you can track your car from anywhere. Kind regards, Meg - Carlock Team

  • QuestionWill the alarm notify you if your car is jacked up and your tires being stolen?

    Asked by Wildfire.

    • Answer While the CarLock device alone can detect any major vibrations, in this case, we recommend adding our CarLock Vibration Sensors in conjunction with the CarLock device. These sensors can be placed exactly where you need them and are designed to detect even minimal vibrations, significantly increasing the chances that any attempt to lift or tamper with your car will immediately trigger an alert.
