• This happened to me too. And yes, you just have to push the buttons through the openings created by the metal tabs falling off.

• Yes you can. Mine fell off within a couple days of purchasing and am using it still with no buttons.

• It makes it difficult to do because you have to press very hard. Or try to get the tip of ur thumb or finger in the small hole
