“I just bought this recorder from Frys yesterday. I plugged it in and nothing happening I put a cassette in and fast forward, rewind play nothing can you help me. Does not move I just plugged it in with no batteries.”

Thanks for your help. I found out the adapter is bad. My husband jiggled it and it worked but once he stopped jiggling it, it stopped working. I am going to return it and get a new one. Thanks again for your help. It never occurred to me it was the adapter.

The recorder or the adapter must be defective. I would try one more tape in it in case the one that you are trying to use is jammed, though. I have never had batteries in mine. Take it back.
