“Can you hook the 8SE up to a smart TV to view from inside the house or do you need to record and play back via mirroring ? Basically I want to know if you can use this scope with a smart phone to watch on TV .”

The Nexstar 8se is a visual use telescope. It has no built-in imaging system or wifi connection. Only the Celestron Origin telescope has this capability. You can add third-party cameras to the Nexstar 8se and broadcast an image from the camera control laptop, but Celestron does not sell the gear needed to broadcast images to a remote viewing device.
