The smoke controller has a number range of 1-5. At maximum setting, my smoker reached a high of around 315 degrees after 45 minutes, with outside temp being 35 degrees. Setting smoker control at 2 resulted in temp of just over 200 degrees. Setting control to 2.5 put temp at around 225-230 degrees.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The analog power controller ranges from 0 to 5, and does not correspond exactly with temperature settings. The built-in thermometer ranges from 100 to 350°F. I find that when I set the power controller to approximately 3, the temperature will generally be somewhere between 200 and 250°F, which is the range that produces smoke from oak wood, and is the range that I generally prefer to do most of my smoking. The reason for temperature variation within the smoker at a particular power setting is due to differences in ambient temperature and humidity. I am completely satisfied with the results I have achieved using this smoker, since I am willing to experiment some to find its optimal settings. I love making smoked nuts, cheese, fish, and meat!
