- Answer The amplifier connects between the base of the telephone and the handset via the handset coiled cord. The connection is a standard RJ9. It will not work with cordless handsets.

- Answer The TIA- 1083 standard affects users of cordless phones who wear hearing aids. This device works only with corded phones - where the handset is connected to the main instrument.

- Answer It goes between the handset and the telephone instrument. You would unplug the handset from the phone and plug the handset into the Clarity; you then plug a separate cord (provided) from the Clarity into the telephone connector .

QuestionCould this device be hooked uo to a digital recorder to increase volume?

- Answer The answer is "maybe if". If the need is to increase the audio output of the recorded sound, and if the connector to the recorder output is identical to the one that connects to a telephone handset, then it might work to increase the volume. Remember that any background noise is amplified also.
