Hi newverticalclimber, You are correct, CLMBR is the first and only Connected vertical climber, meaning you have full access to an on-demand platform with instructor-led classes, challenges, guided climbs, custom programming and an ever-growing community of climbers. That said, the subscription is completely optional and can be cancelled at any time. Without the subscription, you will have access to some guided climbs and an open climb interface. More information and detail can be found here: https://clmbr.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/search?utf8=%E2%9C%93&query=membership
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can still perform a free climb that measures your output (height climbed, resistance, time, calories, etc.) like any other piece of stationary equipment like a rower or bike. It just looks prettier on the screen. The subscription service has classes are there to guide you through a routine and are totally optional. The actual functionality is in no way locked behind a paywall, and I got good workouts out of the CLMBR before I decided to give the subscriptions a chance. For the record, they are pretty good, but it's up to you if you think they are worth the cost.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Well the above from newverticalclimber was my question about Clmbr 10 months ago. After owning a Clmbr for a week now I love it. Never tried any of the “connected “ workouts but so far just like going at my pace . With the sales price , owning a quality commercial quality CLMBR is a reality. So yes it can be used with no monthly connection fees and just enjoy climbing!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hello. VersaClimber (not CLMBR) invented the vertical climber 40 years ago and is used in gyms world-wide. They make first-rate machines that will not break down and have climbers with and without classes/subscriptions. The machines last much longer and have true commercial capability. On the other side, MaxiClimber and other very cheap (amazon) vertical climbers are offered. They break down quickly and feel cheap, but some people like trying them out first to become convinced of vertical climbing's advantages before investing in a VersaClimber.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You would need to pay a monthly membership fee in order to access any guided climb. Without the membership, all you get is time, tempo, reach, power, pace and calories. You turn the knob for difference resistance. They removed the guided climbs and put them into a paid membership. Guided climbs are like the modes you get on a bike or treadmill: "cardio", "fat burning"..etc..
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, they do. There are a bunch of exercise subscription memberships with and without exercise machines such as Peloton, Tonal, etc and they’ve been on the rise since Covid. If the machine has a screen, they have a subscription you can pay for. It’s not mandatory. That was easy to figure out/see though. It may be a del breaker for you, especially since Clmbr doesn’t come without a screen to use that service, but you didn’t have to post a question, especially since you didn’t ask one.
