They will work fine if not further than 500 yards away. Rechargeable batteries are a plus, no need to buy batteries

This one is capable of that and with the right headphone you can set to voice activated, meaning you can talk to each other without the hassle of pushing the button to transmit. Don't count on 16-22 miles apart though. Greatly reduced inside towns/cities with building blocking the signal. Love my set though.
