Low floor use and close quarters
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product is great for my housekeepers who appears to be unable to find them when needed. Usually close quarters and not for the long range all day use. Another great feature it has the USB charging capability. Multi channel and volume controls plus you can install your earpiece to avoid disturbing the guests.

They get the job done... not the best but OK
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the price, these are just OK. Battery is not that bad but, could be better. They don't have that nice quality feel. Cheap plastic and really small, pictures don't help with the size.

Satisfactory
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Should work for the music festival we are attending. However, not great for inner city. My husband and I tested them for a trip to the grocery store 1.5 miles apart from each other and they did not work.

Q: QuestionWe are seniors and need to use it in house or nearby. Is one pair enough? Are these rechargeable? will it interfere with other walkie talkie?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Unless your home is 16 miles across, these should work fine. One pair is two items. So, unless there are more than two of you using them, one pair should be enough. It goes without saying that you need to buy enough radios for everyone with whom you wish to communicate. These are rechargeable by the same cable that charges a standard cell phone IF YOU USE THE BATTERIES THAT COME WITH THEM. However, they come with Nickel Metal Hydride batteries which, while better than the older technology Nickel Cadmium, are still a lower capacity than alkaline and Lithium based alkaline batteries (which are not rechargeable). The radios will run longer on alkaline batteries but then will not be rechargeable. They will interfere only with other radios on the same channel or, if they're close enough, possibly on a nearby channel, but that's why they have some 22 channels. Keep in mind though that the GMRS channels require a license (not that anybody seems to care) while the FRS channels do not. In all cases, the lowest power setting that can be used adequately should be used to limit interference to other radios, if these even have a power setting.

Q: QuestionWe are looking for a system that will allow us to communicate with staff in four different locations within a large banquet venue. Will this system work for something like this?
Asked by DaveK.
- A:Answer I'm sure your venue has come and gone in the four months since you asked your question but these radios are advertised as having a 16 mile range. As long as your venue is smaller than that, I would hazard a guess as to suggest they will work. For what it's worth, FM radios like these are known as "line of sight", meaning their range is limited to the distance you can see to the horizon since unlike lower frequency signals they don't propagate over the horizon without special high end equipment. Unless you're standing on a hill, building, or such, that distance is generally about twelve miles, not sixteen. Even at that, twelve miles is ten to a hundred times more than most people buying these will need
