• It takes a little bit a pull to do it but it can be done. It just slides straight back. A magnet holds them together.

• If it's to separate the camera from the mount and not the mount from the window, you will have to just pull it apart with force. The mount and camera are held together by a powerful magnet it takes a considerable amount of force to pull them apart.
