A:AnswerFYI, this is only a 2-way remote upgrade. It does not include the actual remote start system. Compustar systems have specific modules that integrate into Toyota start systems that actually use a key to start the ignition. Works perfectly with my 2013 Tundra but check with Compustar and or Toyota to confirm. Bottom line, this product alone won’t work because it’s only the 2-way remote control upgrade that provides extended range.
A:AnswerYes it comes always standard with one way. You can upgrade at any time. I asked the same question to auto tech when I purchased mine. I was told if I didn't purchase with original install and wanted to upgrade later it would take about 15 minutes for them to do.
I did purchase the 2 way and love being able to verify that it started. It can run 35 minutes and its Unlimited starts Versus factory (which is 2 or 3 and if they don't start you have to go out and do it, no more chances).
You will be happy you upgrade and the distance is amazing.
A:AnswerYes, this system (with the remote start module) will connect directly into the factory lock/unlock, etc. BUT, you will void your Kia warranty on anything involving electronic systems
