• Yes, they are removable. And I did remove all of them for beter air flow but kept the drive at very top for my blue ray drive.

• Yes, all the trays are modules, you can remove them to install drives or other components. I added a memory card reader to one of the internal drive trays, just open the glass door and insert. This is a really good case.
