Hi, Yes, this SSD will work in our i7200 system since that motherboard has two PCIe 3.0 M.2 slots (one is used by the SSD included). PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSDs are indeed backwards compatible with PCIe 3.0. You also have the right idea that since the motherboard does not have PCIe 4.0, then it will not be able to take the advantage of the full PCIe 4.0 speed capabilities. Regardless, this SSD will work fine and transfer at max PCIe 3.0 speeds until installed in a PCIe 4.0 system. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it does work, but the M.2 screw that's in the motherboard is not long enough. I ordered a packet of MSI M.2 screws from Amazon and one worked perfectly.
