• No it will not break.i just had to replace mine for a new one.and it last me over a year. And i use it everyday.

• Yes, you get a special screw to tighten the sliding pad in the way you want

• This mouse comes with a proprietary screwdriver that you can use to make the pad not slide. you can keep it where it moves but also you can make it not slide. As for typing on it I assume that it is just like a keyboard in the sense that it will break but that is after a lot of use.
