• Yeah you’d want to remove the original stick first if you only have two slots available. If you have more slots available and wanted to keep the original, you can, just keep in mind that your pc will only perform as fast at the lowest speed on the RAM you have installed Just make sure your laptop is off as well before you remove/insert RAM.
