Is the microphone removable null

No it is not. Although it can be rotated up and automatically shuts off - it is a part of the set.

I don't THINK it's supposed to be removed, but don't quote me on that. It just looks like yeah, you could remove it maybe with some wire cutters but then you would have a hard time putting it back on if you ever changed your mind.
