Crucial provides a system compatibility 'scanner' tool, which is available any time at crucial.com. Compatibility and system specs are critical factors in selecting one of our drives. If you wish to install the new drive internally, you may keep the HDD if there is space/slots available (and it is compatible).
Crucial is happy to provide customer and technical support regardless of where you purchased the product. Please let us know if we can be of any assistance.

You can use it as your boot drive and the HDD for additional storage, which would be the best use, as the greater speed is the main reason for getting and using this drive in that manner. In that case, you would have to clone the HDD to it, or install the OS and (probably) change the boot order. If you wanted, however, you could also use the drive for storage (although, again, you would be wasting the main reason for getting it, namely, the far greater speed.

I didn't do that though, as I like to just do a clean install of windows afterwards- it is easy if you know if your windows activation is digitally linked to your Microsoft account.
