• You want to only use with lid down it has a filter to reduce oil smell!

• Yes this is the second one I have bought. It’s a great little fryer . The lid can be put down while frying I leave it down to heat it quicker too hope this helps .

• Hello Nick. You can and it is best to put the lid down to fry. This fryer is a great product and has lasted a very long time. After about 10 + years my parents finally needed a new one and I purchased the same one for them.
