QuestionDo some Cuisinarts leak water? I’m not a coffee drinker, but my husband is. His current less expensive coffee maker seems to leak water as it brews (or else he is very sloppy filling it, lol.) He claims it's the machine. I want a dry countertop!

- Answer The hot water feature is separate from the coffee brewing feature. It holds more than one serving. It does need to reheat in between, but doesn't take very long.

QuestionHow does the clean system work?

- Answer I always filled the tank with 1/2 distilled vinegar and 1/2 water, press the "clean" button and press the "on/off" button. It takes a while. It'll brew a little bit, then sit, then brew a little more, etc.... I also would run two brew cycles of plain water through afterwards just to get rid of any left over vinegar.

QuestionI imported this coffee maker from the USA to South Africa. When I plugged, it worked for two minutes and stop working. Then I realized that South Africa input voltage is 230v while USA input voltage is 110v. Can anybody assist about what might gone wrong

QuestionI do not have the instructions for my CHW12. I can't seem to put the right time for the clock. Program times are working but when I switch to clock ,it won't change. Please help it's a bitchin coffeemaker.

- Answer After you finish with program turn dial to clock. Depress the hour button continuously until the hour flashes. Now punch quickly that button to get to the hour you want. Stop depressing the button at that time. Wait till the time stops flashing. Then depress the minute button and repeat the process. When you reach the minute time you want, stop depressing the button and wait for the flashing to stop. Your time is now set. You can easily switch from program back to clock time.

QuestionMy coffee maker works well, but the hot water system keeps blinking "add water" - I added enough water and it still keeps blinking - also the heating element does not work so I can't get hot water out of it. I have changed filters and cleaned it.

- Answer I would make sure you have it switched to lock, and it should heat your water when it is powered on.

QuestionI purchased one of these because the clock is supposed to be backlit and be easy to read. It is not backlit! Is there a way to turn on the backlight? That's the main reason I chose this model.
