Not needed for that and probably would not recommend to use sir to the pressure.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I doubt it. Never tried opening champagne with any type of wine opener. The fun of opening champagne is the pop when you hold the cork, and twist the bottom of the bottle until the cork releases and enjoy.
