• No. it is not recommended that you run it for more than 50 seconds at a time before releasing the power button for a few seconds. this is to prevent heat build up in the electric motor.

• Yes it has a locking button. You have to push locking button prior to each use.

• it has a safety button that stays down as long as the motor runs. once you take your finger off the motor button, the safety button pops back up. I find this model a bit awkward.
