Yes this is a decent starter gaming pc. It’s prebuilt and basically everything is ready to go for you. Easy to upgrade things in the future if you want

This is more of a computer that is more useful for games like NierAutomata, which is far more demanding in graphics whereas Fornite is a bit more forgiving in that department. Not to mention that this computer is going to have a lot of empty space if your "buddy" uses it just for Fortnite and the occasionall homework. Seriously, even 3 kids would barely be able to use up 500 GB, much less 2 TB. If you also plan to use this for a lot of other games however, this might not be so bad after all. There might also be some issues with the computer if not configured correctly, so there's that. In my overall opinion, I'd suggest you find out what Fortnite's minimum requirements are to play (in terms of processing and such), and, from there, buy a computer/tower that meets those requirements and maybe goes a bit beyond, but only by a small amount.
