• Yes you can, well, if it has BOTH ports, it will then automaticaly set up the "dual screens" mode, just plug VGA in and HDMI, and then it will do the rest.

• Yes and no. When I connect my 60" tv AND a vga monitor, I get the desktop background on the vga, but the TV is the operational monitor. I think you can, I just haven't figured out how.
