“Do you need to take out the motherboard in order to install a new CPU cooler?”

• At least with the setup that mine came with, no. I disconnected the cables, unscrewed the 4 screws holding the cooler to the mobo, put the new cooler in, and plugged in the wires. Fairly painless process.
