My router is capable of both and I had no issues getting the connection. And yes, you can just ask Alexa to change the color, dim them, and turn them off and on! They are decent smart bulbs.

Our smart lights do not connect to 5g networks however if you have a blended network if you disable the 5g momentarily which should be an option when you log into the router you can connect our devices and then re-enable 5g and it will work.
