Yes and Yes - download the mydlink lite app from the app store, login, and you're off to the races. if you dont hear sound in the app from the camera, be sure your ipad isnt muted.

Easy to set up. I use my android phone have not tried iPad but will. It should work especially with iPad with cellular built in.
