• If you are at home, you can control the camera in 'local' mode from the D-link app. If you're away from home you can use the remote mode and control the camera via the cloud. Keep in mind that the reaction time is slower thru the cloud.

• You can control remotely. I believe it also has an option to set automatic scans also.

• It can do both. Can set to auto-sentry where it constantly pans back and forth. Or set it to auto record when a certain area (that you set) has movement. Or you can manually control.
