Depending on your preference, it is easiest to just use an "I" phone and you can view the camera broadcast don any where

Yes, if your wifi reaches upstairs and down stairs. If not a router extender may be needed.

These cameras, although they do have the cheap yellow cable outs, aren't made for viewing from monitors, but from computer screens via internet. There is a software that you can download from d-link that allows you to view multiple cameras simultaneously, but no support documentation is provided, so it is use at your own discretion.
