You can purchase a micro SD card and record directly to the camera. You can review these video files via the Mydlink phone app or your Mydlink free account that you set up online. There is no charge for the app or the website account, both provide ways to set up continuous or motion activated recordings. I went with another option and have the Mydlink NVR connected to external, My Passport hard drives. This allows me to record 4 cameras 24/7 for 18 days before it starts to record over the oldest video. I can view the NVR video over my phone when connected to a good Wi-Fi signal or from the MyDlink account website.
