Basically, we can update the firmware of the camera as longs as it is connected wired to the router. Since you got a red light on the camera, all we need to do is to reset the camera to its factory default and re install the camera. If the reconfiguration won't work then the camera might need to be replaced or you can call the Dlink tech support to let them set the camera as defective so that you can check the illegibility for the replacement.
