• Hello MaryAnne, the blue light can be turned on or off with the light button.

• It can be easily turned off with a switch in the upper right hand corner inside the unit

• Yes it has an easy to get to switch right on the led light fixture itself to turn on and off which is located under the roof of the fridge, it's nice to have the light on sometimes even when door is closed to add an extra nightlight or for cool sparkling looks especially glass bottles.
