Hi Stacy, Thanks for your inquiry! To get the airflow straight forward and slightly downward, press the swing button (please see number 5 in the manual, page 17). This will activate the auto swing feature. Once the swing is in motion, press the button again to stop the louver at your desired angle. Regards, Jog
