QuestionHow are these "wireless" if each camera needs to be plugged in? How are we to install them outside on all four corners of our home if they need to be plugged in?

- Answer Thank you for your question tball. While the cameras do require a powered wall outlet, they are wireless in that you would not need to run wires from the DVR to the cameras, which in some cases could take hundreds of feet of wiring run through attics, along eaves and through walls.

QuestionCan you use extension cords if the power sources are to far from the cameras? How long are the power cords that come with the cameras?

- Answer Thank you for your question. The power cords are a total of 24 feet. While we don't sell extensions, you can use a household extension cable if needed. Please keep in mind that the power supply for the camera should be indoors.

QuestionAre there any plans on battery operated cameras?I don't have power sources near camera locations.This is the only thing stopping me from buying Defender."Wireless" is kinda misleading. I want to be able to move the cameras without messing w/ power cords.

- Answer Great question JT. At this time there is no plan for a battery operated version. Continuous surveillance can be very draining on batteries and would likely result in many changes per month. We appreciate your suggestions and hope that we can one day run cameras in this way.

- Answer Great question patjohn, The DVR will accept an HDMI or VGA connection so you can view all of your cameras at the same time, or one at a time.

- Answer Great question! There are no fees or surprises to use our remote access features! All you need is a wired internet connection to the DVR and our free (no ads!) Defender HD app on your smartphone to view your DVR anywhere you have mobile service or Wi-Fi.

- Answer Great question Wifiwanderer. Available playback speeds are 2x 4x and 8x forward and reverse. Cameras can be viewed single or four camera splitscreen. A digital zoom option is available to expand a selected area of your choice.

- Answer Great question DJ! Our wireless cameras do not need a Wi-Fi connection to record or connect to the DVR. If you wish to add the DVR to your network for smartphone viewing, it will need to be connected to your router with an Ethernet cable no longer than 30 feet.

- Answer Great question elrey. The DVR does not connect directly to your computer. If you want to view it in a browser, you need to connect to your internet router or modem and follow the instructions provided in our how to view series.

- Answer Thank you for your question Mack. To maintain an internet connection for remote viewing the DVR would need to be connected to a router via ethernet cable. This is not required for recording and viewing by television.

- Answer Great Question Anna! Defender HD uses an automatic overwrite feature. What this means, is your DVR will always be recording so you won’t miss a second. It will record over the oldest footage once the hard drive becomes full giving you the peace of mind that your cameras will always be watching and recording!

- Answer Hi George, excellent question! The cameras are designed to be plugged into a standard 120 VAC/60Hz. Connecting any other way could have a negative impact on the performance, cause a potential safety issue as well as voiding your warranty.

Simply create an account in the app, scan your DVR's QR Barcode, Enter your DVR password and you'll be able to see your cameras anywhere with an internet connection!
