QuestionCan this system be used with your home wifi?

- Answer This is a great question Skelter, it cannot be connected to Wi-Fi for online viewing, it uses it's own proprietary wireless technology for a secure connection between the monitor and cameras.

QuestionWell, what's wireless then? Hopefully the cameras themselves. I am looking for a camera for outdoor use where I could put it in a tree if need be. I don't want it obvious when installing system to those in the area I'm surveilling.

- Answer The camera system isn't wireless. I thought it would be free of cords also when I purchased this surveillance system, but the wires make it obvious that you have surveillance. It pretty much has to be close to an outlet in order to work and the monitor has to be plugged in to work.

- Answer Thank you for your interest in Defender Jay! The PhoenixM2 includes a 7 inch monitor which pairs directly with the cameras. There is no video output to connect it to a larger monitor, but you can watch your recorded footage on any device with an SD card reader!

- Answer Thanks for a great question Moto. PhoenixM2 can support a total of 4 cameras, the model number will need to be PhoenixM2C to work with this monitor.

Question1. What is the range for the signal from the camera to the monitor? 2. Will the signal pass through a stucco (over plywood) wall? 3. Does it need my Wifi, or does it have it's own wireless connection? 4. Is direct exposure to rain O.K.?

- Answer Thank you for your questions! I will answer your questions in the order you asked them: 1. Optimum transmission range is 150' with line of sight 2. Signal strength is dependent on a number of factors including materials, range, obstacles. 3. The cameras and monitor use their own encrypted wireless signal, wifi is not required. 4. The cameras are rated IP54, if installed outside it is recommended they are well sheltered from weather and the power adapter is located indoors as limited penetration of water is possible.

QuestionHow does the gb storage card expand to 128 gb? Or do we need to purchase bigger card? If so, where? When the 8gb card is filled wtih 350 minutes (< than six hours sleep) can you delete data? Download to a computer? What inputs does monitor have?

- Answer Great question Dee. The monitor accepts SD cards up to 128 GB. To upgrade storage, you would need to purchase a larger capacity SD card. These can be purchased anywhere that sells electronics and camera accessories. If your SD card is full, the oldest footage will be recorded over.

QuestionIf I buy 2 complete systems will the cameras from extra system pair up so I can run 4 cameras in the one monitor and have the extra monitor as a spare . The 2 camera system is on sale and it works out to be a better deal than just buying extra cameras .

QuestionHow far can the camera be away from the base? Our mail box is approx.400-500 feet away from house.

- Answer I tested the cam with a 9 volt bat. on my remote control lawnmower. Me sitting at the dinning rm, I controlled the mower to go to the rear of my home about 35 ft. The vid started getting choppy and there was a time lapse . I understand that with no obstruction it goes further distance. As for my trial, well it didn't go well. I just left it on top of my washer to see the timer. Good luck

- Answer Hello Gib, thanks for the great question! On the PhoenixM2 each camera can record motion or continuously, independently of each other. You can set up schedules for each camera as well. Defender Support

- Answer Great question Jeri. You can use the power adapter outdoors on this system. For additional power cable length, an outdoor rated extension cord can be used. We recommend indoor installation of the power adapter to avoid the possibility of the adapter being unplugged.

Questionare there any ADDITIONAL wiring from camera to monitor? I ask this due to previous purchases that claim "wireless" and basically same set up as yours but when I received it, it had all kinds of male & female plug-ins to this & that
