Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No, the mat is completly smooth on the bottom. There are no teeth on the bottom and the item tends to slide around on my carpet. However, this may be because I have longer pile carpet, and the mat is rather thin, causing the weight of the items on top to create divots; therefore, the mat moves whenever I move what's on top. I ended up placing a piece of 3/16" hardboard under the mat to address the divot issue, and now the mat performs satisfactory. Note that I also put self adhesive vinyl tile squares on top of the hardboard, which probably would have sufficed as a chair mat all by themselves.
