• No, the mat is completly smooth on the bottom. There are no teeth on the bottom and the item tends to slide around on my carpet. However, this may be because I have longer pile carpet, and the mat is rather thin, causing the weight of the items on top to create divots; therefore, the mat moves whenever I move what's on top. I ended up placing a piece of 3/16" hardboard under the mat to address the divot issue, and now the mat performs satisfactory. Note that I also put self adhesive vinyl tile squares on top of the hardboard, which probably would have sufficed as a chair mat all by themselves.
