Dont know if im late to answer this but no unless you buy a usb ethernet dongle or a better wifi dongle its not going to be good for remote connecting to a desktop at home. You would need to be able to connect to dual band wifi on the 5ghz network and would need something that has wireless AC which this does not. You can still connect with the 2.4ghz wifi that this has but it will be choppy at times.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I believe it should work for you. Typically the bottleneck is the Internet, not the performance of the computer. As long as you can install or use existing software to remote into whatever destination you desire, it should work. The performance of the laptop should be good and likely other factors like the Internet connection and other networking issues can slow down the performance, especially compared to direct interaction of the remote computer, but with a little patience you should be able to do whatever you need to do.
