“I would like to connect the laptop to an external monitor using the thunderbolt or USB C port. Will the computer charge while connected to the monitor. My goal is for one connection to provide, audio, video and charging.”

When connected via Thunderbolt 3 the power output should be equivalent to 65 W in order for the laptop to charge properly.
